Yorlenny & Angel's Story

From social media and casual acquaintances to childhood and family relationships, friends can be found anywhere in the world. However, there comes a time, once every century or so, when two people’s star-crossed destinies collide to create something more than just a friendship - a spiritual-tie - and a bond that can never be broken. The origin of the Todo Va a EstAR Bien Foundation begins with Yorlenny and Angel’s timeless friendship.

Yorlenny and Angel’s friendship had many faces: they were professional colleagues in the entertainment industry; they had a relationship that was easily defined as siblings - Angel was an active uncle in Yorlenny’s children’s lives and he was also a best friend to her husband; they were “bffs” who shared infinite interests from styles in fashion to makeup; and they shared a spiritual connection as “soulmates.”

In early March 2024, Angel was diagnosed with Stage-IV brain cancer and was given until the end of the year to live. It shattered and broke the hearts of the two friends, but it did not break their spirits. For eight grueling, devastating and painstaking months, Yorlenny stood by her best friend, Angel’s side. In the most beautiful demonstration of unconditional love, support and true friendship, Yorlenny provided Angel with particular needs to make his last months more peaceful, comfortable, and purposeful and with less physical pain and suffering. Angel would often tell Yorlenny that she was an angel for being there for him, but she said, “I am not an angel, I am simply your friend.”

Yorlenny was there for Angel’s last breath and promised to tell his story while helping support people, and their loved ones, find dignity, purpose and peace as they face cancer. Yorlenny knew, that no matter what the outcome may be, that everything will be alright.
